Betfair Poker Review

Betfair Poker is the off shoot of the ever popular betting exchange Betfair. Established in 2001 Betfair has been growing in traffic numbers whilst continually updating their proprietary software. There is an instant recognition with the brand that is very well trusted in the UK and Europe which can only help to strengthen the poker room in the years to come. The fact that opening a poker account automatically opens up a great value sports betting account is just a bonus for you gamblers out there! This Poker Room does NOT accept US players.

POSITIVES

This site is great if you are looking to play No Limit Holdem or Omaha Hi. The latest software allows simultaneous play at up to 15 tables (previously it was far fewer). The interface feels nice and clean and is easy to follow with all of the standard tracking statistics you'd expect at a click of a tab whilst you play.

Speed, Speed and More Speed!

This is the thing you notice first about the poker room once you've sat down. The cards are dealt quickly and you are playing more hands per hour then you probably do at whatever card room you are currently playing at.

Easy deposit

Being a sports book initially gives Betfair an advantage when it comes to depositing and withdrawing funds. The process is very easy to follow and funds are transferred back and forth very quickly

Bonuses and Rakeback

Betfair are currently offering up to $600 sign up Bonus which is decent, which is earned in the usual play on cash table and collect points way that we've become accustomed to now. There are good money added tournaments as well as Bankroll Boosters for lower limit players. Another big plus for playing on this network is the good rakeback that is being offered. 30% is a healthy chunk back. A recent addition to their offering is a $10 maximum fee for all tournaments which must be attractive to those of us playing at the higher levels. It also averages about $4m in tournament prize pools every month.

Other Features

In the top right hand corner there is a box interface which allows you to tile the Betfair windows on your screen at the touch of a button which is a really nice feature.

Support

You have the usual e-mail queries in as well as the FAQ area. There is also telephone support for customers who have a TAN number (Telephone Account Number)

NEGATIVES

Game Selection

This is the most disappointing aspect of this poker room. The only games available are Holdem and Omaha Hi. Now whilst this may well cater for the 90% of the poker community, for those of us who like a bit of change now and again or those players that thinking about branching into one of the newer, up and coming poker games, this is most definitely not the website for you.

Game Traffic

I'm not sure if I caught the site on a bad week but the player numbers seemed a little down on the official statistics. It might be that I'm not comparing apples with apples as Betfair does online cater for 2 types of poker games rather then the 5-6 of most other dedicated poker rooms. A big influence on this is the fact it doesn't cater for US players but this is an issue a few of the other poker rooms also have.

Statistics Tracking

Just so people are aware; Betfair poker does not support Poker Tracker so if you are planning on using such tools this site may not be your first choice.
