Minted Poker Review

Minted Poker belongs to the Everleaf poker network which is a group of 19 or so poker rooms all baring one based in Malta. Unusually for a small poker room this one allows US players to join.

POSITIVES

The first thing that hits you about this poker room is that it looks really nice. The colour scheme is nice and fits with the whole minted theme. Most of the popular games are catered for with NL Holdem, Omaha Hi/ Omaha Hi-Low and 7 Card Stud on offer. Once you've sat down at a table, You will come face to face with the ever popular Avatars if you've got the volume on your computer turned up the dealer actually calls out the start of play; whether or not someone has called, raised, re-raised folded or just joined the table. Both of these are nice features and can be easily turned off from the options menu.

In Game Stats Page

You can see from one of the images above a print screen of the Statistics page offered. I think this is a very nice feature and displays most of the information you would want. Unlike some other sites that try to squeeze data into a space some more time has been taken over this and it shows. In the top left hand corner there are extra buttons under the 'go to lobby' button which help tile the tables if you are multi-tabling. Another really nice feature is the odds calculation information that is displayed when in the 'fun money' area.

Banking Interface

You would expect this type of thing to work well and Minted Pokers system doesn't disappoint. There is everything from Visa to E-wallets, bank transfers to Mobile. The excellent thing about it all is that it enables withdrawal back to Visa. This is a joy considering how many poker rooms nowadays expect you to have an e-wallet.

Bonuses and Rakeback

Considering how small the website is the bonuses on offer are pretty good. You have the standard deposit bonus of 100% (up to $400)

A big, big plus for playing on this network is the good rakeback that is being offered. 40% is way above average in terms of rakeback.

Support

Minted Poker run a very tight ship. E-mail queries tend to be answered within a few hours with step by step instructions to resolve any issue. There is also an FAQ area. There is no telephone support but there is Live Chat which is a huge offering not offered by many of its larger rivals.

NEGATIVES

Bits of the interface seem unfinished!

This sounds like a pretty odd thing to say! When you are moving around the poker room and are clicking on certain features (like the options button when sat at a table) the resulting interface have been left as the standard windows dialogue box. The Chat box seems crumpled and over fussy, with a tiny text field to type into and a really heavy bold font for the text that is being displayed.

Hand History

I couldn't see where the poker client saved my hand history. Things like that should be made clear and easy to use. It's not as if I didn't have a look!

Traffic

Being a relatively new poker room the traffic is always going to be on the slow side. The tables look pretty full around the micro limits but tend to peter off rather quickly as you move up the limits. However, the site does allow for U.S. poker players so with a bit of good promotion this could easily be fixed. This is perhaps the weakest aspect of the website. If you are not going to be playing Low Limits NL Holdem then you are likely to struggle to find the game that you want.
