Poker Nordica Review
Poker Nordica is another poker room on the merge network; it has been around since February 2007 so is still a baby in terms of development and marketing. It is owned by Casinokontanter.com Ltd which is a Danish company operating out of Malta. It is running on the Merge Gaming Network. It offers many variations of poker, from NL Holdem to 7 card stud as well as other games like Blackjack, Video Poker and Backgammon. It is also one of the few poker rooms still open to US players.

POSITIVES
Software
This is by far the best thing about this poker room. The software is extremely stable and very well laid out. 99% of the issues have been ironed out of it seeing as it was the platform that was being used by poker.com back in 2005 and not much has changed since. The tables have the classic online poker playing feel of top down view and so anyone who's ever played at a card room online will instantly be familiar with the layout and where the features are located.
The people at Nordica take great pride in their offering and release regular updates for their software. This attention to detail is what makes it a favourite amongst online poker players.
Deposit/Withdrawal
As you would expect from such a solid poker client, the transfers of funds is always smooth and comes in a variety of options. E-wallets and debit credit cards are the norm for both inbound and outbound transactions.
Bonuses and Rakeback
There is a deposit bonus of 100% up to $200 dollars which is not the best. You will receive $20 if you are making you first deposit by e-wallet which is also a nice little bonus. VIP points are again the order of the day which can be used to enter tournaments or be exchanged for goods at their shop. A very nice thing to highlight is the free roles. Normally, more serious poker players will tend to stick to what they are good at and either grind away at tables or move themselves up the limits
The rakeback offered is 30% and about average for the industry.
Other Features
Players that play at the poker room and achieve things (like winning tournaments etc) are awarded Accolades which can be displayed by their avatar. You can also label players with up to 7 tags including fish, shark and On tilt. There is a 'Bad Beat' Jackpot to compete for and you are now also able to resize the tables and grid them for multitable play.

Support
Support wise, they have catered for the two most popular methods of contact for internet based players, e-mail support and live chat support. They are very responsive and will generally respond to your query within a four of hours by e-mail or much sooner with 'Live' chat.
NEGATIVES
Traffic
Even with an average of around 5000 players online, depending on the type of limits you were looking to play you may well be disappointed. The site is strong for NL Holdem and Omaha Hi games but can feel like a ghost town on the stud and Omaha Hi-low tables. There are simply not enough people playing them. If you are looking to play a few thousand hands of NL Holdem you shouldn't have a problem finding a game at any time of day however.
Limited Tournaments
The buy in for the tournaments ranges from $0.60 to $109, but there are not many of them and tend to be under filled and eventually cancelled. The satellites fare better though with plenty of players to make it a viable option but not many bigger games to enter on the site directly.
Poker Nordica is a very solid client. Like many of the poker clients out there today there are many things it is doing right (although the colour scheme could be a little better!). It is open to US players and therefore has the propensity to grow in numbers unlike some of the other sites that have been locked out of that market. All in all we can't really find a major fault with Nordica and we would certainly recommend playing on any of the Merge network sites.
